Dr. Yurkoski’s love for animals began before she can even remember.
She grew up in Medina, Ohio, with her parents, two older sisters, and a house full of pets. By seventh grade, she was shadowing veterinarians at local clinics and spent most of her free time exploring wildlife and caring for her own pets.
She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Kentucky in 2018 and graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. She has a special interest in small animal and exotic pet medicine and gets a thrill out of working up emergency cases. However, her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is making a meaningful difference in her community - improving the quality of pets' lives and, in turn, enriching the lives of their humans.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her partner, Dumbi (who is also a veterinarian!), and their two dogs—Char, an 8-year-old golden retriever, and Panther, a 4-year-old pittie mix they adopted from the island of St. Kitts. She also enjoys anything outdoors and is a huge foodie!
